Delhi is the capital of India. It is a fascinating city with complexities and contradictions, beauty and dynamism, where the past co-exists with the present.
Located in the suburb of Delhi – Greater Noida, the first Indian Formula One Grand Prix will be held on a newly built circuit designed by the renowned Formula One race track designer Herman Tilke who has designed circuits such as Sepang, Shanghai, the Yas Marina, Sakhir Intl in Bahrain, Turkey, Valencia and Korea. The long awaited debut to race Formula One cars in India will arrive again in October 2013 with the first Indian F1 GP staging approximately 50km from Dehli.
Being built at a cost of USD 350 million, the track is supposed to be around 5.5 Kilometres in length and is expected to have the second fastest average speed of any circuit on the calendar behind Monza! The track contains a total of 6 corners and will have a capacity of 118,000 people. The track is one of the fastest in the world, with the cars reaching 320 kmph.
