• F1 Grand Prix in Azerbaijan

    The Baku Street Circuit is a Herman Tilke planned motor racing circuit in Baku, Azerbaijan to be constructed near Baku Boulevard, right by the seafront. A lap of the circuit is 6.003 kilometers (3.730 mi), making it the second-longest circuit on the Formula One calendar.

    Baku is the capital and the largest city of Azerbaijan at 28 metres below sea level Baku is the lowest lying national capital in the world and is home to approximately 3 million people.

    Throughout the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand weekend, there will be a non-stop entertainment program for all ticketholders with global music superstars.

    The six kilometer, anti-clockwise layout of the circuit was designed by famous circuit architect Hermann Tilke. The circuit is planned to start adjacent to Azadliq Square, then loop around Government House before heading west to Maiden Tower. From there the track is planned to have a narrow uphill traversal and then circle the Old City before opening up onto a 2.2 km (1.4 mi) stretch along Neftchilar Avenue back to the start line.
